Migrating from Church.tech? Things look different, but all the tools you've grown to love and rely on are still here! We've consolidated a few and moved some around to make your workflow easier.
1. Getting Started - Migrating your content
When you first claim your account from Church.tech, you'll be brought to the Content Studio landing page - click sign in and use the same email you've used in the past for your Church.tech login. This will complete the link between your Content Studio and Church.tech accounts.
Once you've signed in to your account, you'll see your new dashboard - but no projects are there yet! Click the black and white "Start Migration" button to initiate the migration process. A pop-up will appear and ask you to confirm. Once it begins migrating, you can close that pop-up and it will continue to run in the background. At any point in time, you can click on the "Migrating" button to check on its progress.
Migration can take anywhere from 10 minutes to a few hours, depending on how much content you had previously on Church.tech. Most migrations take 20 minutes or less.
Please note that even after migration is marked complete, we are noticing that it is taking up to 24 hours for the dust to fully settle and for everything to appear where it belongs as the data continues to catch up. Thanks for your patience! If you have a project you'd like to work on immediately, we recommend uploading it again directly to Content Studio so that you can get to work right away.
2: Where your Church.tech tools and features live in Content Studio
Sermons are now Projects
What Church.tech called sermons are now projects. A project can start at any point in a sermon's life cycle, from a single scripture verse or an outline to a fully delivered sermon.
Add a project: Click the Add Project button in the upper corner. You can upload a sermon or start with just a verse, a quote, or a few notes.
Find projects in your dashboard: Search by name, speaker, or series. Filter by active or archived, and sort by most recent, oldest first, or title A to Z.
Manage a project: Click the three-dot menu on a project card to edit the name, thumbnail, or description, or to archive it.
Pages are now in your Actions panel
Your Church.tech Pages live inside each project. Open a project and look at the Actions panel on the left.
One-click pages: Generate a group leader guide, sermon summary, parent guide, or devotional right away.
Start from scratch: Click Create New to begin with a blank page or choose a template from your template library.
Clips and audio: Generate video clips or audio content, like a podcast, in one click.
The Playground is now the Chat panel
In any project, switch to the Chat panel on the left. This is your new Playground, where you can brainstorm ideas and draft written content with AI. You can also start a new chat or view your chat history.
Your custom prompts and Ministry Tools prompts are now in the Prompt Library
In the Chat panel, open the Prompt Library. You'll find:
Your migrated custom prompts from Church.tech
Ministry Tools prompts like sermon writing, sermon presentation, and discipleship, which help you build outlines, draft sermons, and develop other ministry content
To write a new prompt, go to Custom and select New Custom Prompt.
Studio is now Podcasts
You still maintain the ability to create podcasts in Content Studio! Rather than having the studio tab along the top menu that existed in Church.tech, you can find your podcast creator by clicking into a project and you'll see it in the actions panel.
You can also create podcast templates by going into the Templates dashboard from the main menu.
Details for the sermon can now be found in the 3 dots menu for your project
Either directly from the Projects dashboard, or from within the project itself. Once you click on "edit details", a pop-up will show you all the details of the sermon - the summary, scripture references, speaker, date, series, etc. This is also where you can change or update the sermon thumbnail that appears on the project.
Select Save Changes to close the window and save any changes that were made to your project details.
Where to find everything else
The menu on the left of your dashboard includes Projects, Content Library, Custom Templates, Clip Calendar, and Settings. In Settings, you can manage your subscription, organization, and profile information, invite new users, purchase clip credits, and manage your team.
Part 2: What's new in Content Studio
Unlimited uploads
Church.tech allowed just five uploads per week. But in Content Studio, your team can upload as many projects and files as you'd like. This makes it easy to get a head start on future sermons and sermon series while you work on this week's content.
Automatic content generation
On Content Studio, you can control what gets automatically generated when you initiate your upload. Run the same 4 pieces of content every week? Auomate them so that when your upload is complete, so is all the content you use on a weekly basis.
The system is pre-set to automatically generate a summary, transcript, 5-day devotional, and YouTube chapters (if it's a video upload). You can also favorite templates from the Templates dashboard and these will be added to the automatically generated content - no extra clicks needed!
Custom templates
Templates let you create the same content the same way every time.
Favorited templates generate automatically every time you upload a project. This is great for content you create weekly, like a children's ministry guide or a weekly newsletter. If you unfavorite a template, you can still add it to any project from your template library.
See a guide on how to use and create custom templates here.
Clips on Plus and Pro plans
Clip generation was previously available only on Church.tech Pro. In Content Studio, every paid plan includes one clip credit per week.
Getting more clip credits
If your team needs more than one clip per week, there are two options:
Power Packs: Each Power Pack adds one extra clip credit per week to your subscription. You can add up to three, for a total of four per week. Power Packs are a good fit if your team consistently creates a set number of extra clips every week.
On-demand clips: Account owners and admins can enable on-demand clips and set a monthly limit for the team. You only pay for the extra clips you use, which is a good fit if you need extra clips only occasionally.
Clip credits, whether from Power Packs or on-demand, expire the following Sunday at 11:59 p.m.
