By default, your published Pages use a Content Studio-hosted link that begins with pages.church. However, members with a Pro subscription can connect their own church’s web domain through Custom Domains to make those links look and feel like part of their website.
For example, instead of a generic link, your published Page might appear under a custom domain like:
resources.yourchurch.org/devotional-title
💡 Why Custom Domains Matter: Custom Domains build trust with your congregation, reinforce your church’s brand, and make it easier for people to recognize and engage with your content.
In this article, we will guide you through the process of adding a custom domain to your Content Studio account and using it when publishing content. This feature is available for all users on a Pro subscription.
Setting up your first domain
In your Content Studio account, click Settings in the left-hand navigation. Then select Domains from the menu that appears and click Add Your First Domain.
A pop-up dialogue will appear. In the Domain Name field, enter the domain you want to use. For example, if your church's domain is foundrybaltimore.com, you might enter devotions.foundrybaltimore.com. Once you've added the domain, click Continue.
Once you add your custom domain, Content Studio will provide you with an A Record IP address to use.
Log in to wherever you purchased your domain (such as GoDaddy, Google Domains, or Namecheap).
Open your DNS settings, where you manage where your domain points.
Look for a button labeled Add Record or Add A Record.
Enter the following information:
Click Save.
Return to your Content Studio account and you will see that your domain is marked Verifying. It may take a few minutes or even up to an hour for your DNS server to verify the new domain and be active.
Once the domain is listed as active, it would be a good idea to test it and ensure it is working correctly. You can follow
Using Your Custom Domain
Once you have set up a Custom Domain, each time you publish a Page, you'll be able to click the dropdown menu next to the domain and change it to your Custom Domain. You can change this at any time, and apply the new domain to any Pages you have already published to update their links. Note that if you do this, the old link will no longer work for that Page.
