Clips can look blurry for a few different reasons. Here are some things to know and a few ways to improve the quality.
Clip Previews
Clip previews render at 360p to conserve bandwidth and keep pages loading quickly. This means your clips may look lower quality when previewing them in Content Studio.
Don't worry! This only affects the preview and does not impact the quality of your final exported clip.
Export Quality
Clips export at the same resolution as the original video you uploaded. However, certain settings and source video quality can affect the final result.
If your original video has a wide aspect ratio and AI Face Framing is enabled, the tool digitally zooms in on the subject to keep them in frame. Digital zoom can reduce image quality, especially when zooming in significantly.
How to Improve Clip Quality
If your exported clips look blurry, here are a few things to try:
Disable AI Face Framing. This restores the original zoom level and can improve quality if the digital zoom is too significant.
Choose a clip from a portion of the original video that's already zoomed in. If the speaker is framed more closely in the original footage, AI Face Framing won't need to zoom in as much, helping preserve image quality.
Turn off video enhancement options on YouTube before uploading. If you're uploading from YouTube, disable any video-enhancing options before importing the video into Content Studio. These settings can conflict with Minvo's clip processing and cause the final video to look degraded.
Start with the highest-quality source video available. When recording, frame the speaker closely enough that they're clearly visible without requiring significant digital zoom.
